Fast Friday
Well it is finally Friday, what can I say besides. YES about darn time it got here.
It snowed in certain areas around the condo last night and if I were to bet we were only missed by about 100 feet if even that. Sucks but what can you do?
Friday means that its jeans day at work, so getting ready in the morning is no big deal, means that I will try and sneak out with the rest of the company about 445 and know that I will sit in traffic an extra 30 minutes cause everyone in the greater Seattle area had the same idea that I had.
Other then that, nothing planned for the weekend. However.... It is a huge day in my life on Sunday.
Two years ago when Portland allowed Gays and Lesbians to get married, Tina, Emily and I took a couple days off and ran away to get married. Now mind you its not like what your thinking. We stood in line with dozens of other couples, some really cute together, some made you giggle and some just made us smile. There was a beautiful couple behind up in these dresses that were ... Just short of amazing, different shades of oranges and such. Wow they were beautiful. Tina and I chose to wear blues (this will be important later). Anyway, we could not alter the wedding paper, so Tina is the man in the family ... It was a long and hard talk about who was going to put there name there. hehe.. Guess it means she wears the pants in the family??
Anyway you get the paper and then you have to find someone to marry you. So off we went to this Portland night club that had opened its doors to all of us. So you had every religion showing there. You signed in and chose your religion. Since Tina is not big into religion, I did the chose one that I thought would work.
So then we had to wait. Like waiting in a doctors office. You have all these couples around you sitting there, waiting for your names to be called.
The couple that was behind us at the court house was once again behind us. We needed witnesses to sign for us and well.. Tina and I looked around and felt they were the best for us. So the four of us signed the paper.
There is a picture of the four of us, I am sure in their camera and it must be a sight. Blue on one side and orange on the other. These ladies, were wonderful. They would later send us a photo of themselves to us, which Emily put up on her wall immediately. They were just really sweet people. Forever they will remain some part connected to us, whether we ever talk to them or not, just due to the fact that they were there, and stood by us at the wedding.
What am I leaving out, how about the fact that when I looked into Tina's eyes and we repeated our vows, I didn't cry. (my marriage to a man, I balled like a baby) but with Tina, it felt right. When I kissed her, that was it. I knew I had found home. Emily joined us in a group hug and they were balling. Emily said it was the happiest day of her life. (Out of the mouths of children.)
We left and called our folks who.. Might I add were mad at us for not telling them we were... Running off to get married. How do they feel besides that... They love Tina like a daughter, Emily like a granddaughter. Spoiling them accurately.
They were only disappointed that they could not have been a part of it but were happy we did what we felt was right.
Mind you, Portland sent back out check and said the marriage certificate was not valid, but we have it framed on our book shelve for all to see, you know just cause its a piece of paper, does not mean it didn't happen and I am thankful and very blessed every March 12th, that Tina wanted to marry ME.
Have a great weekend all.
