Mischievous Monday

Sounds like a good title to me. Not sure what kind of trouble I can either start or get into at work but the day is still very young, so give me time.

Weekend adventures in our house are always fun, and this weekend was no exception to the rule. Emily (how is 10, and a shop-a-holic) needed a "formal" dress for the cruise she is taking with her father later this month. So this leads to the much dreaded trip to the mall.

She loves to shop, this kid, I would put her up against the best shoppers in the world and I am sure she would win, hands down. She is cute and loves it, and you know... All you can do.. Is just shake your head. Got to love her.

Currently her thing is with sequences.. No I am not so sure I know what the deal is with that but.. Still... She loves them. So every thing she found, had to have sequences included somewhere on the outfit. Shoes or a Shaw, they had to be on it. The only thing she could say was this...

"It will match my purse."

Seriously, how can you argue with that logic?

Arrival time to the mall, 1125am, exit time from the shopping scene, about 530pm. Food along the way because I would never have survived and... Yes! Success in the dress department but no sequences, Glitter instead. Needless to say both Tina and Emily reflected well the rest of the night. A successful trip but one that might feet will never forgive me for, as for the matching shoes, those two are on their own. I can not do it.

Did manage to cycle this weekend, and might I say I was feeling good. I did a nice little route of 16 miles, on my favorite road called.."Tiger Mountain Road". Yep its all mountain, there is no hiding from it. Starts at a gentle 10% angle and at one point moves to a 87% angle. Makes you get off the seat and try to make the bike move faster then you would walk up the hill. That is always a challenge. But.. For me.. The feeling of getting to the top, feeling your legs finally let out a breath of relief, and the wind on your face as you rest and the bike carries you down, makes that climb all worth it. My max speed up that hill was maybe... 10 mphs, and the 87% about 5 mph, but coming down the back side of the hill.. The average speed was 44 mphs. I do love coming down those hills.

That to me, makes the ugly climb beautiful. For that is my only reason for doing it.

I have a drawing on my desk that really is me..

Hill slug.. Takes me forever to get up to the top but I am a rocket coming down.

Try it sometimes, you might like it.
