"Freaky" Friday

Well its finally Friday and I chose the freaky part cause there are days like today that just make me wonder about things.

As a computer tech I have dealt with so much when it comes to things not working but this place, my new job is something totally different. I have users complain something does not work, I walk into their cube and suddenly it works. I take a step out of the cube and it doesn't work. Just makes me laugh. So now I have users asking me to leave parts of myself so they can continue to work. Not thinking that will happen.

Another fun weather day, they say its suppose to be 65 degrees out but right how I have to say it will be lucky if it ever gets there. I mean its over cast and just does not look nice out. Of course if I could have that weather tomorrow for my cycling I would be extremely happy. Course the forecast for tomorrow is rain showers and Sunday is the nice day. Good for softball but sucks for my Saturday ride.

I had a flash back this morning, of things from being a kid that had me laughing. A close friend of mine got me into blogging and this is not the first time she has gotten me to do stuff with no reason.

When we were in high school she called one night while her folks were gone and asked me to come and help get her cat down out of a tree. I remember asking her why it was so important to get the cat out of the tree. She said it had been crying all afternoon, and was so scared. Instead of climing down from the tree, it kept going up. So she wanted help getting the cat out of the tree. So I did that. The cat's name was Dufuss (never has a name been so fitting). So I am climbing up this skinny tree after this scared cat and laughing telling her that this was not a good idea but I was doing it anyway. The cat got to the tip of the tree, I am up there feeling the tree bend over at my weight. This cat was freaking out. Finally,I get the cat and it crawls over me and down the tree.

All this work took maybe an hour, course, my friend is on the ground laughing her butt off. Sure that it was funny to see me struggling on the top of a tree, bending every which way due to my weight to have the cat get down quick. Course as I was climbing down the tree, there is the cat sitting there grooming itself, like nothing had happened.

I think it took me longer to get down from that tree then it did for me to get up it. The lesson we learned was a cat stuck in a tree should stay in the tree. I had a few claw marks from the cat and scraps from the tree, that I think I was the only one traumatized that day. No sooner did I get to the bottom of the tree, the cat went back up it.

Lesson I think that stuck with me, was never get a cat. Am truly a dog person, and not ashamed to admit it.

Have a great weekend...
