"Hump day" Wednesday
Yep its that day again. Two more days till the weekend. Yeah sad I get so excited about such things. But the way the weather has been around here, just makes me want to cry.
Yesterday was so wonderful. Wow I can not even begin to tell you how sweet it was to have it all sunny, few clouds and so blue. Today is suppose to be the same thing but I don't know if I believe them. But then of course, Friday, Saturday and Sunday we are back to the rain.
Do we want to believe them or just live in our own little world?
I picked up the monkey (Emily) last night so that Tina could take the bike out and do a trip around the lake. She came back more exhausted then anything else. She discovered that afternoon riding is not so much fun during the week. The exhaust from cars will hurt your performance more then anything else. So another lesson learned.
Me, I did time on the trainer last night. 12 min warm up at a lovely light speed of 20 miles an hour. So then I did 5 intervals speed testing. yep. Basically its to help increase the heart rate, work the muscles and just plain make you sweat.
So.. 20 seconds at all out, which might I say is 34 miles per hour in the gear I was on, then you do 40 seconds half that speed so I was doing about 18 miles an hour to breath. I used this 40 second breather to wipe the sweat off my face. Talk about pouring down. Wow.. So you do 5 intervals of that.
What can I say, I was beat. I only spend 22 minutes on the bike but I can say they were quick minutes and I don't much mind that. Its when your on the bike and you seem to keep looking at the clock and it still says the same time, like all things stand still. So this is a plus.
I get to do this training thingy for 5 weeks if I can keep it up. haha.. I am suppose to run 6 intervals tomorrow(Thur) and then cycle again on Friday doing 7 intervals. yep it keeps going up. But its only Tue/Thur/Friday. The rest of the time I can do what I please.
Softball starts Sun. So that will help give me a change of pace as well. Tina and I split that duty a bit. On the early games, Emily goes with me to the game and Tina cycles to the game 14 miles one way up hill. After the games (3 hours) they drive home and I cycle home. Thus giving me some bike time. On the later games I cycle to the games and she cycles home. Just really depends on the weather and if Tina wants to get up early or not.
So that starts. And will give me changes I so need.
Well I must get on with my Wednesday activities. Enjoy your hump day.
